Every Day Counselling
“Whew !! what a great counsellor i would become ” This is what i always think whenever i talk to my kids …
They need counselling every day and every minute and you need to be very empathetic with them . You cannot tell them anything blatantly and have to follow a round -about route always . Now-a-days i feel like i always am beating around the bush and have forgotten to say what i intended to say.(just like how am doing this blog) Well you need to step into the shoes of your kids and think like them and act like them. Your 8 year old will tell you that your days have changed and its not the same like how it was when you did your schooling. For everything they say , Athu appadi illamammmmaaa….. (its not like that ma) !!!
and you definitely need to rethink. You should accept that it is not the same like your days. and then we realise that we are indeed getting old.
Your 2.5 year old will teach you how the play group teacher deals with the kids , how you need to do your “activities” and how you should not do certain things and you got to learn from her all those things without whining. They are vibrant one day and dying to go to school whereas crying and throwing tantrums another day and behaving as though they have never been to school at all . so they need to be coaxed in a different way each day. you just remind them what they had done in school the previous day , show them pictures of their activities, talk about how their friends cried or did not cry, ask them what they did when somebody cried , …. and what not to make them believe that they had already been to school and enjoyed. Then somehow succeed in your mission
In the end we end up being COUNSELLED .
and its all peace and tranquility for sometime until your little brats are back.
